Following the selection of new volunteers that applied this year, a training of the new volunteer’s team took place Saturday 10th November 2018 at the conference hall of ICALDE. This training was to present to the new commers BLAS in Africa : its history, objectives, programs and projects. Added to this, there was a presentation on what does volunteer service entails in general and particularly in BLAS in Africa. These presentations were made by the Secretary General Stéphane LONTSI and a permanent volunteer Annie ZEBAZE. At the end of the training the expected results were that the volunteers should have:
- a good
knowledge of the association, its objectives, programs and activities ;
- knowledge of volunteer service at BLAS in Africa ;
- the prerogatives
and benefits of volunteers.
The training that did not only concern
the new volunteers but also the old one presented the volunteers as the corner
stone of the association. Indeed, they are the one thinking, organising,
animating and even evaluating BLAS in Africa’s programmes. They represent the
association every where needed. The volunteers where presented the different
services of BLAS in Africa and invited to join each of them one or two of these
services. Among these services we have: Educ@net, Educ@lasanz, Edut@lk and
Doposcuola. Educ@net is a service that does tracking researches in the domain
of education in Cameroon and in the whole world. These researches entail legal
text, reports, events, projects, news and others provided which are based on
the right to education.
Educ@lasanz is the online newsletter put in place by
BLAS in Africa, it talks about national and international topics on education,
news, discovery, any other useful information on the domain and also the live
of BLAS in Africa. Edut@lk on its part
is a pack of professional trainings offered by the association to the
volunteers in particular and all youth in general, it is also about discussions
on social issues that need to be address or known by all. Finally, Doposcuola
is the program of evening class offered by BLAS in Africa to students of
examination classes that come from deprived families.
At the end of the training each
service had already organised its working program. Some opted for online
working sessions and others for physical working sessions. BLAS in Africa is
highly happy to work with this new team of volunteers that has dynamically
started their service. We then hope to accomplish greater thinks this year.
