The training in Community Management organised by BLAS in Africa took place in the conference hall of ICALDE, from Saturday 28 to Sunday 29 April 2018. The training that was purchased at ten thousand francs saw the participation of 13 youths coming from different spheres of professional life. Indeed there where Master students, job seekers, communicator as well as a professional journalist. This training came as a response to the desire of youths to master social media in order to be competitive in the job market but also to make use these social media so as to make money or get self-employed. In this sense a professional Community manager namely Blanche AWAFACK Chief Technology engineer at GiftedMom was the trainer. First training of it kind, we can say it was a success as the participants expressed their joy of learning new things as well as tips as far as the job of a Community manager is concerned. They first of all learned what a Community manager is, what skills and qualities are needed to become a good one and what are the tools he uses to carry out his duties. After a coffee break offer by the association the participants entered into the practical part of the training which we should say was the core centre of this training. For this, an online connexion was put at their disposal. During this practice, they learnt how to create a Facebook page, how to administer it and boost its publications. Some of them got more interested during the creation and administration of Youtube channel. Also they learnt how to have a blog page on Facebook. But since a blog page on Facebook is limited and less attractive, they participants were trained to create a blog with personalised functionalities using the server blogger.cm. Each participant created his blog, named it and configured its contents. At the end of the training the participants were registered in the platform of BLAS YEC (Youth Empowerment Center). A next training is announced as a continuation of this one. This second training will be based on management of social media contents which is a determinant aspect for the success of community management. Proud of this training session, BLAS in Africa hope to welcome more participants for the next training.
